Our Story
More Than a Gaming Club
A student-led community built around teamwork, healthy competition, and representing UTAR beyond campus.
How the club began
UTAR Esports Club began as a small gathering of students who wanted a welcoming place to practise, form teams, and share their interest in competitive games. As more players joined, the community grew into organised game divisions with captains, weekly training sessions, and campus tournaments.
Today, the club connects casual players and competitive athletes across Honor of Kings, Valorant, League of Legends, Dota 2, and Counter-Strike 2. Senior members mentor new players while committees organise events that strengthen leadership, communication, and sportsmanship.

Inter-Varsity Valorant Invitational
UTAR's varsity roster secured a top-four finish and earned recognition for teamwork and disciplined play.
2026
National Collegiate Esports Series
The League of Legends division qualified for the national group stage and represented the university outside campus.
